Jagex changed the account system for Old School RuneScape to Jagex accounts only since November 7th 2023, every account created after this date requires either 2FA code received by e-mail OR/AND the use of authenticator keys (using Google Authenticator etc.) you can receive the key generated live to login on a device for a valid session during ~30 days. Legacy logins are accounts that were created before that change, the main difference with these is you did not have to confirm the e-mail submitted during the account creation process. This way when an account is sold and unregistered, it eases the buyer into an easier process to register their own e-mail instantly and not have to worry about any possible account recoveries. Unfortunately these are limited in stock and will eventually be rare or obsolete if Jagex forces e-mail confirmation at some point. For Jagex logins, every account sold on the store includes the e-mail used on account creation with inbox access and even the possibility to change the e-mail's password if needed. Jagex account logins come in this format: (one per line) > Jagex@Login:Password:OTPKey / Email@Account:Password - XX/XX/XXXX / 10 backup codes The first e-mail and password is to login on RuneScape/Jagex. The key following that is your authenticator key (to receive OTP key) when you login, you can use Google Authenticator or any OTP services to retrieve the key, you can also use one of the 10 backup codes generated on account creation, these are one-time use codes, but keep in mind the session on the device can stay active up to 30 days once logged in. The second e-mail and password is to access your account's e-mail inbox, you can always access it here; https://mail.tm The inbox is read-only on these e-mails, you cannot send e-mails but you can receive them to recover/transfer the e-mail on your account. The date XX/XX/XXXX is the DOB (Date Of Birth) set on the account creation. (Useful for recovery information) The 10 codes at the end of each lines are backup OTP codes in case you don't have access to your authenticator key, these codes are created on account creation and can be used only once. Remember that you only need to input the login once per month so the session stays active on your device after one use.
